is a royal pita and has been giving me grief – I suspected that the precombiled binary tarball would not work, but found out that I was wrong.
From source, the build fails with an error while building the MANY ‘modules’ but installing from the precompiled tarball works fine, given that it’s designated for OSX 10.9. That tarball wants to be unzipped into / so that the correct path is used, but it’s possible to unzip to ~/tmp and then copy usr/local/uvcdat to /usr/local/ and it will work OK.
The only thing needed then is to symlink the required libs
ln -s /usr/local//Cellar/gcc/4.9.2/lib/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin14.0.0/4.9.2/libgfortran.3.dylib /usr/local/gfortran/lib/libgfortran.3.dylib
ln -s /usr/local/Cellar/gcc/4.9.2/lib/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin14.0.0/4.9.2/libgcc_s.1.dylib //usr/local/gfortran/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib
ln -s /usr/local/Cellar/gcc/4.9.2/lib/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin14.0.0/4.9.2/libquadmath.0.dylib /usr/local/gfortran/lib/libquadmath.0.dylib
