Agh (part 27) – cdms-lite and cdtime

Appears that, following installation of cdat-lite from scitools using anaconda into its own virtualenv (ENV, say), that

import cdms2

fails with

ImportError: dlopen(/Users/ptgriffiths/anaconda/envs/ENV/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cdtime.so, 2): Library not loaded: @loader_path/../../libhdf5_hl.8.dylib

which I think means that cdtime expects the location of libhdf5 libraries to be two directories up (assuming, I presume, that the Python library is installed in /usr/local/lib/python2.7/sitepackages/)

so it’s required to copy the relevant library to

$USER/anaconda/envs/ENV/lib/
